    "subtitle": null,
    "translated_titles": [],
    "abstract": "Introdução: O reparo de lesões musculoesqueléticas depende de processos inflamatórios, anabólicos e de remodelação que são, em grande parte, regulados durante o sono. A privação de sono, frequente após lesões ortopédicas, pode comprometer esses processos e, consequentemente, a reabilitação. Objetivo: Analisar as evidências sobre os efeitos da privação de sono no reparo dos tecidos musculoesqueléticos e discutir suas implicações para a reabilitação de lesões ortopédicas. Métodos: Revisão narrativa da literatura, com busca nas bases PubMed/MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, PEDro, SciELO e LILACS, incluindo estudos experimentais em humanos e animais, estudos observacionais e revisões. Resultados: A perda de sono desloca o ambiente hormonal para um perfil catabólico, com redução da síntese proteica muscular em 18% após uma única noite sem dormir. Em humanos, a restrição do sono retardou a restauração de uma ferida cutânea experimental e reduziu os marcadores de formação óssea. Em animais, a privação de sono atrasou a regeneração muscular e a consolidação de fraturas, com aumento de citocinas pró-inflamatórias. O sono insuficiente associou-se ainda a maior risco de lesão, e a extensão do sono melhorou o desempenho de atletas. Não foram identificados estudos diretos sobre tendões, ligamentos e cartilagem. Conclusão: O sono deve ser considerado um componente do processo de reparo tecidual. A reabilitação de lesões ortopédicas pode se beneficiar da avaliação e da promoção do sono em todas as fases da cicatrização, embora sejam necessários estudos clínicos em populações lesionadas.",
