Per journal or institutional
Contract a plan for one journal, or one contract for all the journals of your organization. A publisher or university administers its journals in a single account.
Payment and renewal
Pay by card on a secure checkout. Plans last 12 months; you receive reminders before the end date and renew from the dashboard.
Your identifiers are permanent — with or without a plan
A plan is needed only to register new publications. If a plan ends or is cancelled, nothing is removed: every ORI already issued keeps resolving to its public page, metadata stays open, and essential corrections remain possible, as set out in the persistence policy.
- Identifiers never deleted or reused
- Public pages and open metadata
- Corrections, withdrawals and retractions
- The same ORI code format on every plan
Questions about plans
What counts as a registration?
Each new ORI identifier issued for a publication, when it is reserved or published. Updating metadata, correcting a record, withdrawing or retracting it, and publishing an identifier that was already reserved do not count.
What happens when the year ends?
You are reminded before the end date and renew from the dashboard. After the end date there are 7 more days to renew without interruption. Unused registrations of the plan do not carry over; additional registrations do.
Can I change plans?
Yes. Moving to a larger plan takes effect immediately and you pay only the difference for the rest of the period. A smaller plan takes effect at the next renewal.
Are there conditions for founding journals?
Yes. The ORI team grants discounts and exemptions to founding and partner journals. They are applied automatically in your dashboard.
Is my card data stored by ORI?
No. Payments are made on the payment provider’s secure checkout (Stripe). ORI receives only the confirmation of the payment.
Ready to register your journal?
Request membership for your organization, then choose a plan in the dashboard.
